When To Take a Delta 8 Break?
Dec 8th 2021
Can you build a tolerance to Delta 8 products? When should we take a delta 8 break? and how long should it be? These are all reasonable questions if you are a frequent user of Delta 8 THC products. Truthfully, no matter what kind of cannabis-related products you use (THCO products, HHC products, Delta 10 products), you will build a tolerance to its ingredients over time. When your tolerance builds, the effects will wear off faster than normal and the effects will start to become less apparent. This can become frustrating and oftentimes, costly. There are a few ways to stop this from happening and we’re going to discuss how in this blog.
To begin, it’s important to recognize the initial signs that show you have built a tolerance to Delta 8 THC. Most obviously, you will notice that you need much higher dosage to feel the way you felt when you first started using Delta 8. Then, you’ll notice that the effects don’t last as long and that they aren’t as pronounced. All three of these are sure tell-tale signs to know that you now have a higher tolerance to Delta 8 THC. Once you’ve experienced one or more of these symptoms, you can now decide to take a tolerance break.
In order for your tolerance break to be a successful one, you have to stay consistent; that’s the most important thing to ensuring your break will have the benefits you're after. With a tolerance break, an important thing to remember is that YOU are in charge and in control of it. Without a doubt, the first twenty four hours of your break will be hard, especially if you’ve never gone cold turkey before. Once you’ve made it through the day, the next step is to keep yourself occupied. Creating a plan, or schedule, for yourself may make the break a little easier on you. Fill your day with activities for yourself to keep distracted and busy; these activities may be working out, going for a walk, hanging with friends, or finding a hobby.
The concept of tolerance isn’t new and can occur with other substances such as caffeine and sugar. Tolerance builds in the body because receptors become heavily stimulated and then go numb after regular use. The end result of this is needing a higher dosage to create the same response. The length of your tolerance break will depend on how tolerant you are to Delta 8 THC; for some users that may be one week and for others it may be up to three weeks. Of course, the longer your break, the better chance you have of resetting your body’s tolerance. After you’ve successfully completed your tolerance break, you have to be sure to use a different form of Delta 8 THC as a way to lessen the chances of your body building a tolerance.
